19/12/2008 Cloudis Ltd and kubit GmbH develop CAD interface
Cloudis Ltd., the UK based specialists in Cable Lifecycle Management and Routing software, have entered into a strategic
partnership with kubit GmbH of Dresden, Germany who specialize
in developing software for capturing of geometric and non geometric data. Kubit also have offices in Houston, TX.
The companies are developing an interface between Cloudis’ CMPIC software and kubit’s hylasFM software so that geometry
created in AutoCAD can be used bi-directionally with the CMPIC cable management database.
The interface will enable users of AutoCAD to create cableway connectivity (trays, ladders, penetrations, trenches etc.)
either in a new model or as an overlay on an existing one. Once cables have been routed in CMPIC, the cable routes and
other attributes will be searchable from the model and vice-versa.
The interface will also be of benefit to companies who have existing plant, rigs or vessels with trays and other cableways
already in place (such as for refurbishments). In these cases if no CAD drawings exist, the user can also use kubit software
to capture existing cableways on site using a Total Station. This data will then form the basis for the routing and management
of new cables in CMPIC.
With effect from 1st November, 2007, Cloudis will be relocating to new offices close to Manchester Airport. Our new contact information will be as follows:

01/10/2004 BSOFTB Technologies Ltd changes name to Cloudis Ltd
Following the change of ownership in May 2002, we have been trading very successfully under new management.
The Directors felt that it was now appropriate for the company to move into the next phase of its development
with a new name and much reduced overheads to protect the business for the long term future, hence these changes.
From a legal entity point of view there has been no change. We still have the same company and VAT numbers,
and continue in business as before.
We look forward to continuing the close relationships we have with our existing and prospective customers
and with our partners and suppliers.
06/07/2004 BSOFTB Announces release of Configuration Management capability for its ICEPIC Cable Management software
BSOFTB has recently launched new optional functionality to its ICEPIC Cable Management software.
Referred to as CMPIC, the new functionality allows companies to implement configuration management of cabling. All elements of cabling which are controlled by ICEPIC can be configuration managed including nodal networks, cables, devices and routes.
CMPIC will be of particular relevance to shipbuilders who construct 'families' of vessels. They will be able to build up applicabilities of cabling on one or more vessels within the family to create different configurations.
CMPIC will provide the prime contractor or constructor with the flexibility to respond to customers' requests for amendments to the design of cabling whilst avoiding the overhead and potential errors implicit in duplicating databases to mirror different configurations. Another advantage is that one ‘master’ design could be held but with several different constructed variants.
